Coming Home

Well, we got released from the hospital around noon today. It is amazing sometimes how long the process can be- both the pediatrician and my doctor were both by and signed off by 7- oh well we finally got home...

The last two days have already started to become a blur, so I quickly have to blog about it. Saturday was kind of crazy. It seemed like every nurse, group and other random person had to stop by. From lactation to picture people, to cord blood person and birth certificate person, we had them all. I was worn out by the end of the day. Luckily, Kylie, thus far, is pretty low maintenance and a good eater so she cooperated for the most part. It is quite amazing though how many people asked if I was about to start feeding her, and when I replied yes, just kept going.

Sunday on the other hand was much more enjoyable- much more me and Kylie time. Jace and Meme went to the dog show and then came to visit, but other than that it was pretty quiet. Steve went home for the night so again this lent to more bonding time with Kylie though I let the nurses take her in between two feedings so I could get some sleep.

Jace is still not sure what to think about all this. He sees her, but not sure about touching/holding her. He does like helping though, so we are starting there- he helped unpack bags today and get her bottle for me. The pediatrician said just let him figure it out himself, and that is the plan.

I am doing ok- a little pain. I tried to cut back on the medicine this morning, but after a couple hours called the nurse- a little too soon. Tomorrow the plan is to take Jace to daycare, because Steve has to go into work for a couple hours, so I should get in some rest. Kylie will easily go 4 hours between feedings, or more, but I am waking her up at 3. She is on the up swing on her weight- she went from 7lbs.50z at birth down to 6lbs14oz, but last night she had gained an ounce back. We see the doctor at the end of the week for another check up.

Ok, enough of the babbling, here is the important part, some new pics....
